Email POP account setup: iphone, IOS8

Setting up your POP account on an iPhone or iPad
Although this is a step-through for IOS8, in most other versions it’s exactly the same.

For this guide your domain is your domain.co.uk and your email address is you@your domain.co.uk 

Press Settings
Press Mail, Contacts, Calendars
Press Add Account
Press Other
Press Add Mail Account

Fill in your Full Name, your Email Address (copy it) and your Password, the description is optional.
Press Next

Press POP

Under Incoming Mail Server
Host name: mail.your domain.co.uk 
Username: you@your domain.co.uk  – the full email address (paste)
Password is already filled in

Under Outgoing Mail Server
Host name: mail.your domain.co.uk 
Username: you@your domain.co.uk (paste)
Password : your password

Press Save

The phone will say Verifying…..
Then Cannot Verify Server Identity
Press Continue
This will happen twice.

You will then return to the Settings>Mail, Contact, Calendars screen where you will see your new account.

Press the account name (probably your domain.co.uk)

Press Advanced and set the following;
Use SSL: Off
Delete from Server: Never (If, and only if,  you are also using a computer with this account, otherwise set to Immediately )
Server Port: 110
Press Back

Press SMTP
Press mail.yourdomain.co.uk under Primary Server
Set the following;
Use SSL: Off
Server Port: 25 – Some ISPs may block this (Three for example) in this case use Port 26
Press Done

The phone will say Verifying…..
And Account verified

Press Done

The phone will say Verifying…..
And Account verified
