Keeping it clean

Our basic hosting package includes mailboxes with a size of 50mB*. These are POP mailboxes and mail must be downloaded.

If people report their emails to you bouncing with the message “Mailbox over quota” or “Mailbox full” then chances are you have a small but important setting wrong in your mail programme.

Note: This does not mean you have to delete mail. Your computer is capable of storing all historical mail, it simply means you store your mail on your computer rather than on our server.

Under the incoming mail server and generally under Advanced Settings will be a setting either called “Remove a copy of the message from the server” in which case choose “Immediately” (unless you have a good reason to set it to something else) or “Leave a copy of the message on the server” in which case it should be unchecked.

If you need full access to your email on more than one device or computer you should consider upgrading to our IMAP mail service which has an unlimited size and thus without. the above restriction.

If you need help with any of the above issues, please call or write.

*If you need more than 50mB, please speak to us, we like to run soft rather than hard limits.
